Medica Drive, Inc. (“the Company”) handles the personal information of individuals (“Customer”) who provide their personal information to the Company in connection with the medical support service for inbound travelers, “Doctor to You” (“the Service”), in compliance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws and regulations.
In handling personal information, the Company discloses the following matters in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information provided by the Customer when using the Service.

For the Customer located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the Company acts as a data controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. Purpose of Use of Personal Information
The Company uses personal information for the following purposes. However, if sensitive personal information (such as health or medical data) is obtained, it will be used only for providing medical support under the Service and not for any other purpose;

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
For the Customer located in the EEA, the Company processes personal data based on one or more of the following legal bases;

Performance of a contract: To provide the Service requested by the Customer;

Legal obligations: To comply with applicable laws or regulations;

Legitimate interests: To improve service quality, prevent fraud, and ensure system security; and

Consent: When required by law, such as for optional marketing or analytics activities.
Customers may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal.
4. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
The Company provides personal information to third parties only with the Customer’s prior consent and solely for the purpose of assisting in medical consultations, including to medical interpreters, physicians, or other healthcare professionals as necessary.
Notwithstanding the above, if it is necessary to protect the life or health of the Customer and obtaining consent is difficult, the Company may provide personal information without consent to the necessary third parties, such as physicians or interpreters, in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.
The Company may also provide personal information to third parties without consent where permitted by applicable laws and regulations.
5. Outsourcing of Personal Information Handling
The Company may outsource all or part of the handling of personal information to third-party service providers (including those located outside Japan) to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use.
In such cases, the Company carefully selects contractors, executes data processing agreements, and supervises them appropriately to ensure the protection and security of personal information.
6. International Data Transfers (GDPR)
When transferring personal data to a country or region outside the EEA that may not provide the same level of protection, the Company ensures appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, to protect personal data in accordance with Article 46 of the GDPR.
